Mark Redl: Team Colt Pro Shooter

West Hartford, CT – Colt Team Captain, Mark Redl was introduced to USPSA competitive shooting in 1989 and instantly fell in love with the sport. He started shooting locally and then quickly moved to sectional and area matches.

“My original match gun, a Combat Elite 1911, a Colt legend with over 185,000 rounds through it--and it still runs like a champ!” Redl said. “The last year I have been using the Colt Competition series guns in my shooting events, and they have become my favorite guns.”

Redl’s shooting disciplines include USPSA (United States Practical Shooting Association), IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association), Steel Challenge, and NRA Action Shooting/ Bianchi Cup.

Winning over 200 state and regional championships has ranked Redl in the top tier of all IDPA National Competitors.

Known for his aggressive attacking style, Redl has achieved numerous wins in state and area matches. Consistency is one of Redl's strong points as he always finishes in the top 10-percent on a national level in IDPA and USPSA matches.

“I am most proud of regaining the New England regional title last year,” Redl noted. “2021 was the year I went back to IDPA competition, and I am proud of all my wins in IDPA. IDPA and Colt are two platforms made for each other, and both Colt and Team Colt have done so much to help me improve as a competitive shooter. Every time I put on my match shirt it is an honor and privilege to represent such an iconic brand,” said Mark. “I could not have achieved what I have as a shooter without the great firearms made by Colt and the fine people at Colt I’ve had the honor to know and work with.”

Mark will be on hand for a meet & greet at the Colt booth, #2614, during NRA's Annual Meetings in Houston, Texas, May 27-29, 2022.
