S3DA Partners with Rend Lake Area Tourism

Williamsburg, KY – The Rend Lake Area Tourism Council will be the host organization for the S3DA™ 3-D National Championship Tournament on June 18th-21st, 2020. Located in the heart of Southern Illinois, Rend Lake provides numerous recreational activities on land and water. After multiple meetings between the Rend Lake Area Tourism Council and S3DA™ National Staff a 3-year contract was signed to host this national tournament. The 2020 event will be located at the North Marcum Day-Use Area, which is a premier location for fishing, biking, hiking, wildlife watching and a host of other activities.

Rick Linton, Executive Director / Rend Lake Area Tourism Council states, “For the past ten years, both Rend Lake Area Tourism Council (RLATC) and Rend Lake US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) have worked together to promote Rend Lake as a tourist destination. We have the Corps to thank for keeping this huge facility in pristine conditions as well as adding more visitor attractions and camping facility improvements every year. Our goals are the same, letting people know about the lake and its many visitor activities, attracting more visitors each year and making a visit to Rend Lake the very best experience for everyone who comes.”

Jennie Richardson, S3DA Executive Director said, “We are very excited to bring our 3-D National Championship Tournament to Rend Lake. The recreational and conservation activities that will be available to our student members and families will be of tremendous value. We look forward to building on this relationship to benefit Rend Lake as well as S3DA.”
