Colt Anaconda Awarded the 2022 Golden Bullseye Handgun of the Year

Justin Baldini, VP Product Strategy, accepts the Golden Bullseye Award on behalf of Colt.

WEST HARTFORD, CONN. - Colt’s Manufacturing Company is honored to announce that the Colt Anaconda has been selected as the 2022 American Hunter Golden Bullseye Handgun of the Year. Published by the National Rifle Association (NRA), American Hunter is the largest circulation hunting magazine in the nation.

In their 20th year, the NRA Publications Golden Bullseye Awards acknowledge the finest products available in shooting sports. The winners are selected by a seven-member committee consisting of editors, graphic designers and veteran NRA Publications staff, representing more than a century of collective experience in the shooting and hunting industry. To qualify for consideration for a Golden Bullseye Award, a product must have been:

  • Recently introduced and available to consumers before the selection of the Golden Bullseye Awards
  • Used/tested by a staff member or regular contributor to the magazine and/or affiliated media
  • Reliable in the field, meeting or exceeding the evaluator’s expectations
  • Innovative in design and function
  • Readily perceived as a value to the purchaser
  • Styled in a manner befitting the shooting and hunting industry and, perhaps more importantly, its enthusiasts

“Chambered in the very powerful .44 Rem Mag, the Colt Anaconda was entirely re-designed in 2021 with an oversized Colt Python action, creating a double-action revolver worthy of its pedigree,” said Paul Spitale, Colt's Executive VP Commercial Business. “A linear leaf spring action provides a non-stacking, smooth-as-glass trigger pull, while a bulked-up solid stainless-steel frame adds strength and durability for the powerful .44 Magnum cartridge.”

Additionally, recoil-absorbing Hogue grips soak up the magnum recoil. The Anaconda includes adjustable, interchangeable sights for optimum shooting at the range or in the field. Shooters who want to mount an optic will appreciate the Anaconda’s drilled and tapped frame. The 2021 Anaconda Colt has 6- and 8-inch ventilated barrel options and a recessed target crown for muzzle protection.

Colt’s Manufacturing received this Golden Bullseye Award during a special breakfast on Friday, May 27, 2022, at the 2022 NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits in Houston, Texas.

Colt’s Manufacturing and the award-winning Anaconda will be featured in an editorial overview of the Golden Bullseye Awards. Articles will appear in the June 2022 issue of American Rifleman, American Hunter and Shooting Illustrated magazines.
