Team Krieghoff Skeet members Alessandro Vitale and Houston Deshotels each shot their way to the top of the World Skeet Championships held recently in San Antonio, TX.

Facing a field of over 500 shooters, Alessandro posted near-perfect scores of 399/400 and 498/500 to clinch both the Mini World HOA and HAA Championship titles. As the HOA field narrowed, Alessandro found himself tied with and heading for a shoot-off with squadmate and fellow K-80 shooter Mike Wollard, adding a rare twist to the event. In the end, Alessandro and Mike stood side by side on the podium as Mini World HOA Champion and Runner Up respectively.

Houston Deshotels arrived at the World Skeet Championships holding the Jay Schatz High Average Leader titles in 12, 20, and 28 gauge. The Georgia Hall of Fame member continued to set his sights high and capped off a stellar season by winning both the Main World HOA and HAA Championship titles.

"Winning the World Shoot is the greatest achievement and honor that I have ever received in my life. I don't think I can phrase it any better than that. It just doesn't feel real, “ says Deshotels.

“I can't thank my family, friends, and fellow shooters enough for all the kind words I have received. I will always be grateful for being surrounded by so many wonderful people in Skeet shooting".

Inducted into the Georgia State Skeet Association Hall of Fame in 2019, Houston posted strong finishes in major tournaments throughout the past season.

Two Lady Team Krieghoff shooters, Katherine Adams and Lauren Burge enjoyed successes at the World as well. Katherine finished Lady HOA Runner Up, as Lauren joined her on the podium with a Lady 3rd finish.
