For the 2nd consecutive year, Shot Business named Ellett Brothers the Distributor of the Year. Presentation of the award took place during the National Shooting Sports Foundation's (NSSF) Shooting, Hunting & Outdoor Trade (SHOT) show.

Ellett Brothers, celebrating its' 75th birthday, was recognized for its contribution and dedication to the shooting sports industry. Ellett Brothers is a well known leader in the promotion and preservation of the shooting and hunting industry, on both the national and local levels.

Each year a silent auction, to support the NSSF Hunting and Shooting fund, is held at the annual Ellett Brothers Dealer show. The money raised during the 2008 show brought contributions to a 5-year total of $180,000. Ellett Brothers' on-going support of the Boy Scouts of America and the South Carolina Sportsman Caucus Foundation (of which CEO, Hewitt Grant was instrumental in establishing) and sponsorship of youth hunting and shooting programs promising a bright future for the shooting and hunting industry. Ellett Brothers openly prides itself as one of the "Friends of the NRA", as it educates legislators to the shooting and hunting sports, providing knowledge of responsible gun ownership, shooting sports fun and the importance of concealed carry laws.

While diligently supporting the industry, Ellett Brothers has not forgotten its' place in the community. The Ellett team is the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life's largest fundraiser in the Irmo-Chapin district. Over $38,000 dollars has been raised through the efforts of the Ellett family.
