Mesa Tactical LEO Telescoping Recoil Shotgun Stocks Gaining Widespread Official Acceptance

January 3, 2012 - Mesa Tactical, provider of high quality tactical accessories and gear to law enforcement, the military and civilian shooters, today announced increasingly widespread acceptance of its line of LEO Telescoping Recoil Stocks for pump-action shotguns among US Federal and local law enforcement agencies. The stocks, based on AR-15 collapsing telestocks and featuring ITT Enidine hydraulic recoil buffers, have recently been adopted by agencies such as the Los Angeles Police Department's Metro Division, the Orange County (CA) Sheriff's Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

"Mesa Tactical is honored to be selected by these important Federal and local public safety agencies," said Mitch Barrie, President, Mesa Tactical. "As agencies continue to appreciate the value of the tactical shotgun in their operations, and issue greater numbers of these weapon platforms, it is important they provide their officers with a stock system that delivers extreme durability with proper fit and superior recoil management."

"The Orange County Sheriff's Department recently tested several stocks for the Remington 870 shotgun deployed throughout operations command," said Sgt. Dave Harrington. "The Department found the Mesa Tactical recoil reducing stock to be the best available stock and approved it for our shotguns. The Department has purchased the stock and will be deploying them in the near future."

Mesa Tactical is a pioneer in the development of telescoping stocks for tactical shotguns. Telescoping stocks are necessary for operators wearing body armor, or for smaller statured shooters; a telescoping stock provides the length of pull the situation demands.

The concept behind the telescoping stock system is simple: the shotgun's factory stock is replaced by an adapter, to which standard AR-15 grips and telescoping buttstocks can be reliably attached. All of Mesa Tactical's stock adapters are investment cast aircraft aluminum, which are then CNC machined before being anodized with a Type III Class 2 mil-spec finish.

Mesa Tactical's upgraded versions include a hydraulic recoil buffer which replaces the standard receiver extension tube normally used with AR-15 style telescoping stock assemblies. The recoil buffer is manufactured for Mesa Tactical by Enidine Incorporated. Enidine has been the leading manufacturer of recoil absorption devices for stationary, mobile, and personal weapons for over forty years.
