American Custom Gunmakers Guild Retools Website

The American Custom Gunmakers Guild (ACGG) has launched their retooled website in time for the 2012 hunting and shooting season. The new site is designed to provide members easy access to information and services as well as serve as an educational and informative gateway for the consumer interested in custom gun maker services. The web address is www.acgg.org.

"Many American firearm consumers tend to think that custom gunmakers are essentially engravers," commented ACGG Executive Director Brett Schwenke. "We are working to expand the knowledge of the consumer as to what it is America's custom gunmakers are doing." Schwenke went on to note that the new and improved web site is part of the organization's effort to move custom gunmaking more into the mainstream of the American firearm marketplace.

The web site is only part of that effort. The Guild recently announced that it would be holding its own national exposition for the first time in 28 years after nearly 3 decades of a joint show with the Engraver's Guild. Starting in January 2013, the ACGG will have their own show in conjunction with the Dallas Safari Club.

With the growth of the US firearms market in recent years, the demand for custom gun makers has grown at a similar pace, creating a need for a single, effective reference point for consumers that offers education on what custom gun makers actually do, examples of some of the amazing work from these uniquely American artists that work in steel and wood, and a directory designed to ease the location and selection process.

"The intent is to present ourselves in an easy and friendly way to the consumer without the intimidation factor that has long been an obstacle for many gun owners," noted Schwenke.

The American Custom Gunmakers Guild (ACGG) is an association dedicated to the advancement of the art of custom gunmaking. It is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit trade association. Each year the quality and artistic expression of projects displayed has surpassed the previous year's work and astounded makers and attendees. This year's expo will be in Dallas from January 3-6, 2013 in Dallas, Texas. Details and enrollment information are on the web site.

The Regular Membership of ACGG includes individual craftsmen who are in the trade of custom gunmaking, including stockmakers, metalsmiths, engravers, and other specialists. Associates are individuals and companies who have an interest in fine quality custom firearms. We invite anyone who appreciates this work to join as an Associate Member via the ACGG website at www.acgg.org.

Memberships, sponsorships for the Guild show and other events are available. For more information, to join or to sign up for the show, please contact Executive Director Brett Schwenke at (989) 600-6135 or Sharon Dressel at (509) 966-9233, or visit the Guilds web site at www.acgg.org.
