Starlight Three Gun Give Preliminary Info on First Nighttime National 3-Gun Match

Morristown, TN- Starlight Three Gun, LLC, the company formed to "take the DNA of the Midnight 3 Gun Invitational and grow the event to a national level" has released preliminary details of their inaugural nighttime national three-gun shooting event.

The inaugural "Starlight 3-Gun" will feature three-days of amateur and professional competition at an east-coast location yet to be announced. There will be an open enrollment for experienced 3-gun competitors and interested shooters who are new to 3-gun competition will have the opportunity to qualify the Starlight 3-Gun via participation in other qualifying 3-gun events.

The inaugural event, will be held in September 2015 on the eastern side of the country, making travel simpler for shooters already committed to national events on the 2015 competition calendar.

"We've very pleased with the level of support we're already been promised from supporters of the original M3GI," says Jim Shepherd, managing partner of Starlight 3 Gun, LLC., "many of the original sponsors of M3GI have already committed their financial support for the inaugural event, and we're close to announcing participation from companies outside the shooting industry.

"We're not announcing a venue or firm date at this point," Shepherd says, "because we're still getting our back-office functions squared away. We had one location in mind but others with experience at hosted national competitions have asked that we consider them, too. I can't tell you which location will be chosen at this point, but I can tell you that travel will be considerably simpler for the vast majority of 3-gun competitors."

Over the next few days, prior M3GI competitors will be contacted via email with more details and information on other events leading up to the Starlight. Those emails will include invitations, location and accommodation information.

"We talk about using the DNA of the M3GI to evolve nighttime 3-gun competition," says Shepherd, "because a single, big-money event isn't our objective. That's an intermediate step."

"Our long-term goal is to popularize the concept of athletic shooting competitions and create local, regional and national events where everyone from a young children shooting beginner courses can compete at the same venue as the pros. The full-blown pro circuit will combine TV, online and live events to fill up arenas and athletic facilities across the country. Our goal is to make shooting competitions entertaining- and to do that, we're amping up the entertainment value- without sacrificing safety."

"The M3GI competitors used lights and lasers," Shepherd says, "we're add in fog, thumping music, strobe lights, pyrotechnics, and a true 'event' atmosphere. It won't impact the shooters, but it will showcase the skills our shooting professionals have right now. Young people who see these events will want to become shooting pros because they'll see a sport that integrates shooting skills with athleticism.

"If you're involved in practical or 3-gun shooting, you already know that's true -so we plan for today's great shooters to finally get the recognition - and rewards- they deserve."

Starlight Three Gun, LLC will be announcing the dates and venue for their initial event over the next few dates. In the meantime, interested sponsors, shooters and industry leaders can get more information by contacting Jim Shepherd at shepherdproductions@mac.com.
