Kakkuri Answers CCW Questions On Bersa BP380 And Ruger LCRx

As the concealed carry market continues to grow, so do the questions surrounding the best ways to carry concealed. For new shooters, choosing the right carry gun/holster combination can be a difficult decision, while even experienced shooters may have to experiment as new products hit the market.

FMG Publications Online Editor Mark Kakkuri anticipates reader questions regarding the Bersa BP380, which is the company's first polymer frame pistol in .380. This Q&A-style, online-only exclusive can be found a www.gunsmagazine.com/exclusive-bersa-bp380-concealed-carry-my-questions.

"Bersa has other calibers based on this frame but today I'm only talking about the .380 version," writes Kakkuri. "Here are the intriguing specs that first piqued my interest: Full grip, 8+1 capacity, .94-inch width, 21.5 oz. weight, handy features. It's a basic DAO pistol meant for concealed carry, yes, but executed differently than other guns."

Kakkuri also tackles another challenge that comes with purchasing a new gun for concealed carry: finding a new holster or two to go along with it. In an American Handgunner online-only exclusive, Kakkuri pairs two holsters from Galco Gunleather and Vega Holsters with Ruger's new LCRx. His takeaways can be found a www.americanhandgunner.com/exclusive-two-holsters-for-the-ruger-lcrx.

"So here's Ruger's new LCRx, a three-inch barreled .38 Special revolver with a more-polymer-instead-of-steel composition," Kakkuri writes. "It's super light (15.7 oz.) with a heavy but smooth trigger — a dream for carry, assuming you like revolvers like I do. To holster it, I took two routes: First, I dug through the proverbial shoebox full of holsters and found a Vega Holsters FD1 belt slide for a revolver. Second, I ordered a customized Galco Combat Master belt slide in Havana Brown."
