Winchester Returns as Ammo Sponsor of JR Shoot

Winchester Ammunition has returned for its sixth consecutive year as Official Ammunition Sponsor of the Jack Robertson Invitational Sporting Clays Shoot.

The Jack Robertson Invitational will mark its 16th consecutive year of fund-raising on behalf of the hunting and shooting sports on Thursday, May 21. Winchester Ammunition has been Official Ammunition Sponsor of the event since 2011

Originally organized by the National Shooting Sports Foundation as a retirement party for long-time employee and well-known clay target shooter and event organizer, Jack Robertson, the "JR Shoot" has grown into one of the most anticipated events on the New England sporting clays calendar.

The shoot is now organized by the Hunting Heritage Trust and has raised more than $430,000 in support of America's hunting and shooting sports heritage.

"Over its 16-year history, the Jack Robertson Invitational has benefitted groups ranging from St Jude's Children's Hospital to USA Shooting and from the Youth Shooting Sports Alliance to the United States Military Academy at West Point-Pistol Team," commented Brett Flaugher, vice president of sales, marketing and strategy for Winchester Ammunition. "Winchester congratulates the Jack Robertson Shoot on its 16th year of sporting clays camaraderie and fund raising on behalf of the shooting sports. We are pleased to play a role in the success of this worthwhile event."

The "JR Shoot" is typically held on the Thursday before Memorial Day and this year's gathering is slated for May 21 at the Ten Mile River Preserve in Dover Plains, New York. Registration for the event is capped at 150 shooters. A limited number of registrations for 6-person teams at $1,500 and individual shooters at $275 were still available at press time.
