Pulsar Thermal Monoculars Offer Outdoor Edge

Pulsar is proud to release its newest editions to the Quantum series of thermal imaging monoculars, giving outdoorsmen, hunters, and conservationists the ultimate edge in the field. The new Pulsar Quantum XD38S and XD50S feature an advanced OLED display (640x480 pixels) and a high resolution microbolometer sensor (384x288 pixels) with seven different color palette modes for optimal viewing in a variety of scenarios.

Deep in the Alaskan bush, a seasoned hunting guide may utilize a thermal imagining device to locate giant brown bears in thick cover. Late in the day, his client takes a shot and the bear rushes into the brush and out of sight. There is no where to hide with thermal imaging, which aides hunters in the safe recovery of animals by identifying heat sources during the day and in the dark of night.

Pulsar Marketing VP Tim Hewitt said, "The Quantum Thermal Monocular provides hunters complete confidence to locate their game, even in total darkness. Animals literally cannot hide. Even behind brush or at distances up to 1,300 yards way, you can clearly identify game with the Quantum's detailed, high quality 384X288 thermal core resolution and high magnification digital zoom features."

In zoos and wildlife areas around the world, conservationists and scientists also utilize thermal imaging technology to further study the movements and behaviors of animals. Thermal imaging has been a major asset in many studies, providing a greater advantage for observation in natural habitats where animals often stay hidden while birthing young.

Equipped with durable, glass-nylon composite and a weight of just over one pound, the XD38S and XD50S models are extremely lightweight and weather resistant, able to withstand harsh environments and varying conditions. Users have the ability to switch between "white hot" and "black hot," making targets distinctly visible over 1,000 yards away.

The longer-distance viewing of the XD38S offers 2x and 4x digital zoom functions, which increases the 2.1x magnification to 8.4x. The XD50S also offers 2x and 4x digital zoom functions, ranging from 2.8x magnification to 11.2x. The digital zoom function not only provides the advantage of viewing long distance targets, but also closer targets in greater detail. Featuring a 50 hertz frame rate (higher than most on the market) for a crisp, consistent image of fast-moving objects, the XD38S and XD50S are engineered to track targets quickly and easily. Ideal uses for the new Quantum thermals include scouting, hunting, tracking and recovering game, wildlife observation, and surveillance.
