Easton's Pagni Becomes First "Lucky Dog" Vegas Champion

LAS VEGAS, Nevada USA -- Vegas is a legendary place of opportunity and challenge, whether it's at the casinos or in the highest-pressure, most-popular archery event in the world.

For the first time ever, the "Lucky Dog" competitor took the premiere title event—the men's compound unlimited championship title in the prestigious Vegas shoot-down Sunday night. The Lucky Dog event allows a shooter another opportunity to make the final championship shoot-off. This year, 30 archers squared off for the one final point they needed in order to compete in the shoot-offs. In the end, the Lucky Dog was Sergio Pagni.Team Easton's Sergio Pagni of Italy, the respected two-time World Cup final champion, added the Vegas title to his list of accomplishments and took home a check for $50,000 for his efforts. Sergio has always relied on Easton carbon shafts for his accomplishments and at Vegas he utilized the Carbon FullBore arrow to seal the title. Easton's Logan Wilde took 2nd place in the premiere compound class shoot-off, which was carried live worldwide on Archery TV.

Netherlands shooter Inge VAN CASPEL took the premiere women's compound title in a tense three-way shoot-off, using the legendary Easton X23.

For the recurves, it was another total Team Easton sweep, with SIM Yeji of Korea, Mackenzie BROWN of the USA and KIM Mijing of Korea finishing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for the women. All three chose Easton X10 shafts for their podium performances.

In recurve men, Brady ELLISON and Sean MCLAUGHLIN of the USA took 1st and 2nd, with Korea's GYE Dong Hyun finishing the Team Easton podium sweep

The 2016 competition had a record turnout of 3045 shooters this year, the vast majority chose to use Easton shafts—the most-winning arrows in Vegas for the past fifty years.
