Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) Names Bretsch Iowa State Coordinator

Louisville, KY - Scholastic 3-D Archery has named Ross Bretsch as the new S3DA Iowa State Coordinator. As the State Coordinator, Ross will oversee all aspects of the S3DA program in Iowa, including tournaments, training and dividing the state into regions that will allow S3DA participants multiple monthly competition venues as close as possible to their home location. Ross will also recruit and hire Regional Coordinators to oversee and manage these individual regions.

Ross Bretsch has been an archery instructor for the past 12 years. He also has been a Professional Archer in the NFAA for the past four years and has spent three years as an IBO Professional archer. He enjoys shooting bows, bowhunting, fishing and racing sports. Ross spends most of his time touring in the spring, summer and fall. Most of his afternoons are usually spent in a tree during deer season.

Ross has a passion for working with the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP), teaching kids to bowhunt and 4-H programs. He is sincerely excited to be part of the Scholastic 3-D Archery program and is looking forward to big changes in both the state of Iowa and adjoining states. "Lead by example so others will learn to follow in the correct way," says Ross.

"With Ross's extensive background in coaching, growing numerous archery programs and participating at the professional level, he will be a homerun for our Scholastic 3-D Archery program in Iowa," adds Jennie Richardson, Executive Director for Scholastic 3-D Archery. "He is a gifted coach that really cares about the students and our sport. Ross will pay attention to details to make sure all of the coaches and students
have the mechanics and mind-set needed to be successful in all disciplines our sport."

Started in December 2012 by the Scholastic Archery Association, S3DA has grown exponentially as a next step program to follow introductory programs offered as part of 4-H or the National Archery in Schools Program. S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting and bowhunting. The program currently operates across the United States with hundreds of certified coaches serving thousands of young archers, grades 3–12.
