The Saint Featured in GUNS Magazine

The Saint has arrived and is on the cover of the March issue of GUNS Magazine. Born of a legendary American company, the Saint represents Springfield Armory's foray into the black rifle market. The highly anticipated 5.56x45mm caliber semi-auto marched in last November following a strong marketing campaign. Dr. Will Dabbs exercised the newcomer and offers insightful results in his story.

"I'm a simple guy who likes simple things. Summed up, what all this means is the Saint is an optimized 5.56 defensive rifle. Everything best done well is done exceptionally well. Embodied within the new Springfield Armory Saint we find that elusive beastie–the effective compromise," Dabbs states.

In "Big Bore Breakout," Massad Ayoob assesses Ruger's GP100 .44 Special. Ruger paid heed to customers looking for a large-caliber revolver for personal defense when it created this service-size firearm. Ayoob and team tested the powerful GP100 in a variety of scenarios and ammo for a thorough review of its dependability and carry-ability.

Coverage in the issue also includes the merits of Colt's revival 1911 Gold Cup National Match and a trek through New Zealand in search of red stag with the new Hunter by Kimber.
Bushcraft and survival-movement enthusiasts get a close look at ESEE's new 4HM (Handle Modified) fixed-blade knife, and the precision-driven "extreme sport" of bench-rest shooting is detailed in this month's "Game On" column.

Taking center stage in this issue's giveaway is Navy Arms' 1892 "Coyote Killer." A replica of the 1892 rifle by Winchester, this modern version is ideal for its primary role as predator control, as well as at the range. The winner will also receive an Arbolito Esculta by Böker Knives and Breakthrough Clean's Ammo Can Cleaning Kit. Altogether, this giveaway is valued at $2,805. In every issue of GUNS, links to online extras give readers more content to enjoy. This month, Robert Kolesar takes a look at the USA's first fight-winning 9mm 30 years later in, "Battle Tested! Beretta's Rack-Grade GI 92FS/M9." On newsstands now, a digital version of the March issue can also be purchased athttp://www.gunsmagazine.com/digital-version.
