Vanguard World USA is searching for a Regional Sales Manager based in Whitmore Lake, Michigan. Founded in 1986, Vanguard is a leading manufacturer of high-quality photography and video accessories, sporting optics, and sporting accessories. The Territory Sales manager is the point person in creating and maintaining relationships with existing customers, managing a sales team, and development of new business opportunities.

The ideal candidate will be effective at leading a team responsible for ecommerce, national, multi store regional, and independently operated single store retailers. They must be able to quickly identify opportunities and decision makers within these organizations that will foster growth of existing products and placement of incremental products. Strategic thinking and understand the "big picture" of how decisions will impact both retailers and Vanguard is key.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Regional Sales Manager must have a strong understanding of target market segments along with the ability to research and find new opportunities outside of assigned areas.
  • A positive attitude and desire to succeed
  • Monthly planning and forecasting of territory and key accounts to meet sales and profitability targets
  • Ensure timely communications of sell in and sell through promotional activities and maximizing retailer web, and retail sales floor opportunities.
  • In depth understanding of assisted and unassisted retail sales floors and developing an executable plan to maximize sell through.
  • Proactively assess, clarify and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Gather and communicate competitor activities
  • Travel within territory on a regular and or as needed basis

Skills and Experience
  • Proven track record of achieving sales goals while fostering a positive customer experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independent with entrepreneur mentality
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
