Columbia, Mo. – The Board of Directors of the Youth Shooting Sports Alliance (YSSA) recently conducted its board meeting in Columbia, Missouri, at the offices of MidwayUSA Foundation.
MidwayUSA Foundation is a longtime supporter of the YSSA and its mission to provide quality shooting equipment to youth shooting programs in the United States.
“Our foundation is charged with providing sustainable funding to youth shooting programs across the nation and the YSSA is a perfect complement to our program,” said Scott Reynolds, executive director of MidwayUSA Foundation. “Their objective to provide quality shooting equipment to youth programs is unique in the industry and we not only applaud their efforts, but we see it as a critical need for future success of youth shooting sports.”
Reynolds said the Foundation was excited to host the YSSA Board because of the opportunity to align strategically.
“We jumped at the chance to host their board meeting,” Reynolds said. “It’s definitely a good fit with our organization and it gave us all a chance to become more acquainted with each other’s vision and opportunities.”
Cyndi Flannigan, executive director of the YSSA, echoed Reynolds’ sentiment about the strategic partnership.
“The MidwayUSA Foundation, and specifically Larry and Brenda Potterfield, have been instrumental over the years ensuring YSSA has the resources and funding we need to accomplish our goals,” Flannigan noted. “We continue to be successful because of their generosity. It was also eye-opening to see the Foundations’ long-term strategic plans and how they align with ours.”
“The future is exciting and it’s imperative that we work together to foster a passion for shooting sports among youth participants,” Flannigan said.
The Youth Shooting Sports Alliance was founded in 2007 and has become the central source for shooting sports equipment for youth shooting programs across the country. To date, the YSSA has loaned more than $1.5 million in equipment to youth programs, benefitting more than 85,000 youth.
