Agencies Trust Hayman Rapid Access Firearm Safes

Active shooter events require swift, immediate response by law enforcement personnel armed with long arms if lives are to be saved. Not all venues, though, are compatible with routine long arm carry. That is why Hayman Safe Company developed the Rapid Access Firearm Safe and why government agencies and private enterprises across the U.S. rely on Rapid Access Firearm Safes for the most critical emergency responses.

“We provide the RAFS (Rapid Access Firearm Safe) to schools and law enforcement agencies throughout the country,” said company President Gary Hayman. “We learned from past incidents that firearms intended to properly meet the challenge of an active shooter must necessarily be placed in sensitive areas where the threat and the potential victims are most likely to meet.”

“School resource officers or other designated personnel do not have time to sprint to a remote firearm locker or to an outside patrol vehicle in order to retrieve a defensive long arm,” Hayman continued. “The essentials tools must be right there, right now. That is what the RAFS delivers and that is why schools, municipal concerns, and private entities are installing RAFS units in these locations. We have also provided Rapid Access Firearm Safes to airports for secure storage of long guns in passenger terminals.”

The RAFS is a non-typical firearm safe system designed for covert appearance so that it is unrecognizable as a gun storage unit and can be strategically placed for quick active-shooter response. Each RAFS is managed by a biometric lock system that easily integrates into an organization or agency’s response plan. The safes are constructed of a heavy-duty 3/16-inch formed solid steel door and body with a recessed door that interlocks with the frame and body. Drill-resistant hardplate and a deadlocking boltwork stop drill attacks and withstand ALL forcible entry attempts.

Florida’s Orange County was the first public entity to purchase Rapid Access Firearm Safes, with over 150 units acquired to date. Since then, the State of Louisianna has installed the RAFS in select locations. Other state agencies now operating with RAFS units in their facilities include Washington, Oregon, Connecticut, Mississippi, Massachusetts, Virginia, Ohio, Arkansas, South Dakota, New York, Alabama, Michigan, Wyoming, and North Carolina.
