The Challenge:
The Bill Drill Challenge will be six attempts, a coin flip will determine who has honors. That competitor may choose to begin using their attempts to set a clean time or defer to the opponent. Once a competitor has scored a clean run, they then have the option to stand, retaining their remaining attempts, and bring the opponent to the line to begin using their six attempts to beat the posted time. That process continues until there is a winner.
“The idea to make TV out of this came after last year’s event, and the seeing Isaac Lakewood shoot the winning run. I knew it could be something awesome to watch,” said Scoutten. “And so did the key players who got on board with the idea. First Lafe and Henning agreed that they would run the qualifier. Howitzer Clothing offered support right away. And Colt immediately committed to matching the qualifier prize money.”
The qualifier event and the Bill Drill Challenge Final will be filmed for a Shooting USA Episode this summer. Everyone attending the USPSA Carry Optics Championships is invited to attend the Bill Drill Challenge Finale Saturday afternoon in the vendor area at the Cardinal Shooting Sports Center.
