GA S3DA Names New Eastern Regional Coordinator

Williamsburg, KY – Ken Zaydel has been named as a Georgia S3DA Eastern Regional Coordinator. As a Regional Coordinator, Ken will oversee the development and operation of S3DA within the eastern region of Georgia, including educating and recruiting parties interested in forming new S3DA teams, working with the State Coordinator, and when possible, attending and assisting with National S3DA events. Ken and his family currently reside in Social Circle, Georgia, where Ken works as the Fire Chief for the City of Social Circle. Ken is an S3DA Advanced Coach and has USA Archery Level 3 certification. He also serves as an assistant coach on the Walton County 4-H team and the Ace Apaches JOAD and S3DA team.

Ken got started in archery a little over three years ago, when his son, Caleb, came home from school and told him he had shot a bow in PE class at the Elementary school. Caleb wanted to know if his dad would buy him a bow. Ken thought this would be a great way for them to spend time together, so they went to Social Circle Ace and purchased their first bows. Now, the entire family shoots and competes in archery events all around the country.

Ken is a staff shooter with The Outdoor Group (Elite), G.A.S. Bowstrings, Q2i Archery, and Ace Archery Pro Shop and Range. Ken Zaydel states, “I really enjoy everything about the sport of archery, from the people I meet, to traveling with my family, competing, learning to be a bow tech, and working with the kids. It is an honor to be able to serve as the new East Georgia Regional Coordinator. I look forward to meeting more archery enthusiasts and getting to work with all the teams in this region. It is my goal to continue growing the S3DA program and the sport of archery in Georgia. My goal after I retire in a few years is to start a second career in the archery industry.”

About Scholastic 3-D Archery

Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) is a unique, family-oriented youth archery program which has grown exponentially across the United States as a next-step initiative to follow introductory archery programs. The mission of the Scholastic

3-D Archery program is to foster, educate and guide youth in the areas of 3-D, indoor target, and outdoor target archery as well as safe, ethical bowhunting practices. The goal of the S3DA program is to provide archery and bowhunting opportunities to youth in after-school settings, as well as with archery-affiliated clubs and businesses in the community. S3DA students participate in 3-D and target archery using compound and traditional archery equipment. Students can participate at local, regional, state, and national archery events and earn college scholarships from colleges and universities across the United States. S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting and bowhunting. The program currently operates across the United States with hundreds of certified coaches serving thousands of young archers, grades 3–12.
