Team Winchester Joe Fanizzi Claims Top Honors at NSCA Northeast Regional

EAST ALTON, IL — Joe Fanizzi overcame a 2-target deficit on the final day of the 2023 NSCA Northeast Regional to edge out the competition and claim top honors as event champion. He also won High Overall in the FITASC event, clearly cementing his name as the top sporting clay shooter at one of the most highly regarded stops on the NSCA Championship Tour, Powered by Winchester.

Fanizzi rolled through the course, shooting top scores against some of the most competitive sporting clays shooters in the country using hard-hitting and legendary, Winchester AA® shotshells. Fanizzi, the 2021 NSCA National Champion, is one of the top sporting clays shooters in the country and a student at Texas A&M University.

Team Winchester member Desi Edmunds also logged an impressive performance with strong scores across the board earning her the third-place finish in the Winchester Ladies Cup standings. Congratulations to Desi, as well as Karen Shedd for High Overall and Haylyn Hanks who finished Runner Up.

  • Connor Daniel: Winchester 5-Stand- Sub Junior Champion, Masters Cup- Sub Junior Runner Up
  • Desi Edmunds: Ladies Cup- 3rd Place

This year’s Northeast Regional event was held at M&M Sporting Clays near Pennsville, New Jersey, a world-class-facility, owned by Anthony Matarese Jr. and family. The M&M Sporting Clays facility hosts several prominent competitions annually, and is well renowned for its pristine course, delicious food, and hospitality.


The Northeast Regional is the second of six total regional shoots which make up the NSCA Championship Tour, Powered by Winchester. The season finale takes place this October in San Antonio, Texas at the 2023 NSCA National Championship where a new National Champion and Winchester Ladies Cup Champion will be crowned.
