DSC Foundation Launches Global Care Fund

On the final night of the Inaugural DSC Summer Expo, the DSC Foundation (DSCF) announced the launch of its Global Care Fund, a new initiative that provides financial relief to individuals and families who suffer serious injury or loss of life while engaged in wildlife conservation efforts around the world. The Global Care Fund offers critical support during these difficult times to conservation professionals, including professional hunters, game wardens, and biologists, who regularly put their lives at risk while engaging in hunting and conservation activities.

“It is our hope that the Global Care Fund brings relief and reassurance to the conservation community and reminds them that they are not alone,” said Rob McCanna, CEO of Dallas Safari Club and DSC Foundation. “We are eternally grateful for the sacrifices and courage of conservationists around the globe who put their lives on the line each day to protect wildlife and wild habitats.”

The funds administered through the Global Care Fund are generated through events, grants, and donor contributions. To qualify for assistance, the person must be a member in good standing of a relevant professional peer organization in the state or country in which they are injured or killed. Individuals/families can apply at www.dscf.org/global-care-fund.

“With the Global Care Fund, the DSC Foundation affirms our unwavering commitment to those who dedicate themselves to conservation under the most dangerous circumstances,” said Russell Stacy, President of the DSC Foundation. “Both DSC and DSC Foundation stand ready to help when tragedy strikes.”
