S3DA Names Tracy Shaw Arkansas State Coordinator

Williamsburg, KY – Scholastic 3-D Archery is proud to announce Tracy Shaw as the Arkansas State Coordinator. Tracy will oversee the development of the state, divide the state into regions and recruit and hire regional coordinators to oversee and manage these individual regions. Tracy’s goal is to work with the regional coordinators to build more S3DA teams across the state. Once the regions and teams are established, S3DA participants will not only shoot archery in their local venue but will have the opportunity to compete against other archers in local and regional tournaments held across the state. As participation increases, Tracy looks to get more youth involved in shooting at the collegiate level through scholarship opportunities.

Tracy Shaw has lived in Arkansas most of her life. Tracy is an avid devotee of outdoor sports, including angling and hunting. Tracy works and volunteers with several organizations that teach women and kids about hunting and conservation. When Tracy’s daughter, Abigail, showed interest in Tracy’s hunting bow, she took Abigail to an Indoor Archery shoot where she fell in love with it. At the shoot, Tracy learned about S3DA and was encouraged to become a coach and start her own archery club. In April, Tracy went through the S3DA Basic Instructor Training course to start a youth archery club called Nock-On NEA in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Tracy states, “My passion is in archery and the outdoors. I want to make a difference in a child’s life and through the various organizations that I work with, I have seen first-hand how that youth in the outdoors may very well be the key to maintaining our outdoor heritage. I became involved with S3DA because I thought it was an amazing opportunity to bring archery back to my area and the program delivers life-skills to youth. I am excited for the future of Arkansas S3DA.”

About Scholastic 3-D Archery

Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) is a unique, family-oriented youth archery program which has grown exponentially across the United States as a next-step initiative to follow introductory archery programs. The mission of the Scholastic

3-D Archery program is to foster, educate and guide youth in the areas of 3-D, indoor target, and outdoor target archery as well as safe, ethical bowhunting practices. The goal of the S3DA program is to provide archery and bowhunting opportunities to youth in after-school settings, as well as with archery-affiliated clubs and businesses in the community. S3DA students participate in 3-D and target archery using compound and traditional archery equipment. Students can participate at local, regional, state, and national archery events and earn college scholarships from colleges and universities across the United States. S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting and bowhunting. The program currently operates across the United States with hundreds of certified coaches serving thousands of young archers, grades 3–12.
