MidwayUSA Promotes Brian Sims to Database Manager

Columbia, MO –

MidwayUSA is pleased to announce the promotion of Brian Sims to Database Manager. Brian joined MidwayUSA in 2015 as a Database Administrator in the Information Systems department. Throughout his time with MidwayUSA, Brian has worked on various projects including re-engineering the data warehouse, re-designing the distribution location system for efficiency gains, and working on a Dynamic Product Recommendations Company Action Plan where he built the Product to Product recommendations/suggestions.

“I have always enjoyed using my knowledge and skills within data management to help MidwayUSA succeed,” said Sims. “As Database Manager, I will continue to innovate and improve the database system for the success of the company and benefit of our Customers.”

Prior to joining MidwayUSA, Brian worked for IBM, Walsworth Publishing, and the Cerner corporation. In his new position, Brian will be responsible for the maintenance and performance of the database environment. He will work closely with the Application Development, Network, Server Administrator, and Web teams in order to ensure enforcement and sustainability of database designs.

“Brian is incredibly passionate about Database Management,” said Joel Felten, VP Information Systems. “Brian, along with his knowledge and expertise will continue to be a great asset for MidwayUSA as Database Manager.”

In addition to his Data Management and Database Administrator experience, Brian has participated in shooting sports as a Boy Scout and as a Scoutmaster and is a Lifetime NRA Member.
