Rocky River Archery Club Hosts NC S3DA 3D Tournament

Williamsburg, KY – Located in the Rocky River basin of southcentral North Carolina there is 50 acres of beautiful hardwood forest exclusively dedicated to a 3D archery course. Bryon Walters, S3DA Coach of Indian Trail Bow Club S3DA said, “A small group of local archers organized to fulfill a vision of having an archery-only facility in our community to introduce and promote the sport of archery. The result was the formation of this non-profit organization set-up to host regional ASA, S3DA and archery fun shoots for everyone. We have certified USA Archery Instructors in our club that can provide assistance to first-time archers or youth that just want to improve their skills.”

Rocky River Archery Club held the last North Carolina S3DA 3D regional of the season in Monroe, North Carolina. Approximately, 58 archers from 8 NC S3DA Teams traveled to the new site to compete. All the archers that participated in the event qualified for the North Carolina S3DA 3D Shooter of the Year in their respective class and division.

Spectator Tom Hannik stated, “Rocky River Archery Club provided an outstanding experience for every archer. The location is convenient to Charlotte, the course is challenging but fair, and the club house is simply magnificent. I encourage anyone when they are in the area to stop by and sling some arrows down range, because you will not forget the experience and you will want to come back.

North Carolina S3DA State Coordinator, Chris Poston stated, “I am so glad that we were able to have our last 3D regional of this season at Rocky River Archery Club. This new venue is indescribable, and we were lucky enough to be the first on the range. Everyone seemed to have a great time. I look forward to working with these fine folks in the future and hopefully we will be able to come back next year.”
