Hillsdale College to Host 2023 National Shotgun Championship

HILLSDALE, Mich. — The John Anthony Halter Shooting Sports Education Center at Hillsdale College will host the 2023 USA Shooting National Championship. The skeet match will be held from May 17 to 22 and the trap competition will be held from May 23 to 28.

“The competition and level of shooting at these events are incredible, and we are honored to host them,” said Hillsdale College Chief Administrative Officer Rich Péwé. “To see such top-notch athletes display their talent and hard work is just one great part of the college’s partnership with USA Shooting.”

The competition serves as a selection match for the Shotgun Open National Team and the Shotgun Junior National Team. “We are very excited to once again host some of the best sportsmen in the country at the Halter Center’s state-of-the-art facilities,” said Dale Royer, program and development competition manager at the Halter Shooting Sports Education Center. “The 2023 National Championships promises to be an exciting event for competitors and members of the community.”

Hillsdale College has been the official home of the USA Shooting National Team since 2019. In 2022, the Halter Center hosted the USA Shooting Junior Olympic Trap and Skeet development camps and championships.
