Matt Bartholow Claims Fifth World Doubles Championship at Grand American

Team Winchester shooter, Matt Bartholow, captured his fifth ATA World Doubles Championship at the 2025 Grand American Trapshooting Championship. With this latest victory, Matt has set a record and is the first in history to achieve this accomplishment of mental fortitude, precision, and elite marksmanship.

Matt competes with Winchester AA® Light Target Load 1 1/8 oz #8 (AA128) shotshells on his first shot of doubles and Winchester AA® Heavy Target Load 1 1/8 oz #8 (AAM128) shotshells on his second shot of doubles.

The Grand American Trapshooting Championship held at the World Shooting Complex in Sparta, Illinois, draws the best trapshooters from around the globe. In fact, this year’s event drew over 5,000 shooters between the AIM and Grand American events. Matt’s win adds another ring to his collection but proves his enduring dominance in the shooting sports.

“This one means a lot,” said Matt Bartholow. “I’m always honored to compete, but to stand here as the ATA World Doubles Champion for a fifth time is truly humbling.”

For over a decade, Matt has been an elite performer on the ATA leaderboards. Known for his humble and composed demeanor, Matt Bartholow is a consistent presence in the trapshooting community.

The ATA World Doubles Championship tests shooter’s ability to engage two targets launched simultaneously. The event demands speed, marksmanship, and a mental fortitude that most outside of the sport can’t comprehend.

“Congratulations to Matt on his fifth ATA World Doubles Championship. We are proud to have Matt on Team Winchester and continue to be impressed with his dedication, focus and achievements,” said Jason Gilbertson, Senior Director of Marketing for Winchester Ammunition. “Matt not only has consistently performed but has made history with his fifth championship. Well done to Matt and to all competitors at the Grand American.”
