GRAHAM, NC — Ed Small, CEO of Big Rock Sports, LLC and parent company Peak Global Holdings, announced today that David McCartney has been named president of Big Rock Sports. McCartney will assume responsibility for the day-to-day management of the outdoor sporting goods distribution company. He will join the executive team at Big Rock’s home office in Graham, NC, where he will report to Ed Small.
With three decades of distribution experience, David McCartney brings a comprehensive knowledge of warehouse operations, pricing, supply chain, and inventory management to Big Rock Sports. His background spans both retail operations and wholesale distribution with a focus on serving thousands of small, independent retailers across the US and Canada.
McCartney spent nearly 30 years with General Parts, Inc. (now Advance Auto Parts), where he served as president of their Carquest Division. In that role, McCartney managed the company’s complete supply chain, which included 32 distribution centers in the US, three in Canada, and two in China.

An avid outdoorsman, McCartney grew up hunting and fishing in West Virginia. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Management from North Carolina State University. McCartney will continue to reside with his family in Raleigh, NC.
