KY S3DA - Indoor Regional at Daviess County

Lion’s Club Fairgrounds

Williamsburg, KY – Kentucky S3DA held their most recent Indoor Regional at Daviess County Lion’s Club Fairgrounds in Philpot, Kentucky. Daviess County High School Archery hosted 290 archers, despite the state being hit hard with the flu. Twenty clubs and teams (44 club & team divisions) from across the state were in attendance.

“Daviess County is one of my favorite shoots. I always feel at home there with so much support. I love kicking the dust up and pounding X’s there,” stated S3DA archer Cooper “Coop” Jones from WKAC in Madisonville, KY.

Daviess County Archery coach, Kristi Wilson said, “We would like to thank the Daviess County Lion’s Club Fairgrounds for their support and allowing their facility to be the “Home of DCHS Archery Team.” We would like to thank everyone that comes to our hosted tournaments. We realize our facility has challenges such as a dirt floor and no forced heat, but you guys always choose to support us and our tournaments, so we graciously thank each of you. We would also like to thank all those who took pictures throughout the tournament.”

“I was impressed with the courtesy and kindness we were shown at the recent Daviess County regional. As a mother and coach, it can be a trying experience at a tournament. I would like to thank Kristi Wilson and Tom Patterson for their patience and kindness shown to both archers and coaches. I appreciate those who make the sport enjoyable for all,” stated AimTakers Archery Coach, Candace Metcalf.

About Scholastic 3-D Archery

Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA™) is a unique, family-oriented youth archery program which has grown exponentially across the United States as a next-step initiative to follow introductory archery programs. The mission of the Scholastic

3-D Archery program is to foster, educate and guide youth in the areas of 3-D, indoor target and outdoor target archery as well as safe, ethical bowhunting practices. The goal of the S3DA™ program is to provide archery and bowhunting opportunities to youth in after-school settings, as well as with archery-affiliated clubs and businesses in the community. S3DA™ students participate in 3-D and target archery using compound and traditional archery equipment. Students can participate at local, regional, state and national archery events and earn college scholarships from colleges and universities across the United States. S3DA™ addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting and bowhunting. The program currently operates across the United States with hundreds of certified coaches serving thousands of young archers, grades 3–12.
