Dorsey Pictures Featured in Deadline Hollywood

Entertainment industry's authoritative source profiles the work of the company on its 20th anniversary.

Castle Rock, Colorado--Dorsey Pictures, America's leading lifestyle television producer with deep connections in the outdoor industry, was profiled in a recent article in Deadline Hollywood – the authoritative source for breaking news in the entertainment industry -- as part of the production company's 20th anniversary in 2021. Over the last two decades, Dorsey Pictures has grown into the world’s largest independent producer of outdoor programming, creating 56 series for outdoor TV and more than 50 series with outdoor roots for mainstream cable networks. With the announcement made in Deadline Hollywood, the company looks to expand its roster of mainstream cable and broadcast productions into the business format space after acquiring the rights to the personal finance book Rich Dad Poor Dad, the number one selling personal finance book of all time. More than 200 million copies of the book have been sold worldwide in scores of languages.

“It’s interesting intellectual property,” founder Chris Dorsey told Deadline. “We’re digging into what’s unique about the viewpoint in terms of thinking about money, wealth and financial education. We’re now developing multiple concepts and bringing some other talent into play. We’re looking to create formats, entrepreneurship competition [shows] that’s based on the IP found within the franchise, and personal finance advice concepts. We're looking at a lot of different conventions of TV surrounding this unique property.”

For over 20 years, Dorsey Pictures has worked with the largest brands in the outdoor industry as the leader in branded entertainment. The Colorado-based company has produced more than 2,000 episodes of outdoor programming and has amassed a 150,000+ hour HD library of outdoor content from across the globe. After more than a decade in the outdoor genre, the company expanded into mainstream programming while maintaining rural roots.

Dorsey Pictures was the only production company with outdoor ties to be named to Real Screen magazine’s annual Global 100 list in 2019 and again in 2020.
