Covenant Ranch Hosts Tennessee S3DA Indoor Regional

Williamsburg, KY – Covenant Ranch Youth Archery Club was one of the first clubs to join the Tennessee S3DA program. The club is home of SonRise Adventures Sportsman Programs. SonRise Adventures offers a wide variety of opportunities to help strengthen hunting, fishing, and outdoor skills while encouraging sportsmen to ultimately discover what the hunt is about as they develop a passion for God and His Risen Son. Everyone at Covenant Ranch is passionate about hunting and the outdoors and they strive to develop new ideas and activities to get youth involved in God’s great outdoors.

Recently, Covenant Ranch hosted the 2nd Indoor Regional for Tennessee S3DA at Lakewood Elementary School in Buchanan, Tennessee. Over 100+ youth archers from 16 teams across the state gathered to compete. The morning line and the afternoon line were nearly full as competition began and the gymnasium bleachers were filled to the brim with spectators. Several individuals joined the Tennessee S3DA 150 club for shooting a perfect score.

“Covenant Ranch Youth Archery Club was honored to host this regional shoot. It went extremely well! Tennessee State Coordinator, Robert Carter and staff were very well organized and prepared. I heard nothing but positive feedback from those who attended and competed. The shooters did great, and it is always good to see so many youth interested in the great sport of archery,” stated Jon Paul Moody, Director: Covenant Ranch, SonRise Adventures Sportsman Programs.

Tennessee S3DA State Coordinator, Robert Carter stated, “The 2nd Indoor Regional of the season took us to West Tennessee and a new location at Lakewood Elementary School. Tennessee S3DA has experienced a tremendous amount of growth in West Tennessee over the last few years and it was evident at this event as we filled the gym bleachers to capacity. Despite there being “standing room only” at times, the archers did an amazing job with smiles all around. I am continually impressed with not only the level of competition coming from these youth but their spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship. Well done archers!”

About Scholastic 3-D Archery

Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) is a unique, family-oriented youth archery program which has grown exponentially across the United States as a next-step initiative to follow introductory archery programs. The mission of the Scholastic

3-D Archery program is to foster, educate and guide youth in the areas of 3D, indoor target, and outdoor target archery as well as safe, ethical bowhunting practices. The goal of the S3DA program is to provide archery and bowhunting opportunities to youth in after-school settings, as well as with archery-affiliated clubs and businesses in the community. S3DA youth participate in 3-D and target archery using compound and traditional archery equipment. Youth members can participate at regional, state and national archery events and earn college scholarships from colleges and universities across the United States. S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting and bowhunting. The program currently operates across the United States with hundreds of certified coaches serving thousands of youth archers.
