Vic Pickett, Longtime Competitive Shooter

Vic Pickett, Master Class Shooter died at home in Mesa AZ on April 29, 2019 after a 20 month bout with a debilitating disease; Transverse Myelitis. It is a severe affliction with no known cause or cure but Vic toughed it out better than most. He even had to get an extension of his hospice care because he kept on trucking far longer than expected. He was always a strong competitor so that should not be a surprise.

Vic shot competitively for decades and was an officer of the International Confederation Of Revolver Enthusiasts (ICORE). Vic had many sponsors but was prominently known to be found at the ADCO booth at events like SHOT Show, NRA Expo, and IWA, and was often accompanied by his wonderful life partner Marge Wakley. His involvement with the Rio Salado Sportsman's Club in Mesa, AZ where he was known as a "fixture". His match wins and championships are too numerous to list. He was a pioneer in starting their monthly revolver matches and ran the program for 15 years.

Originally from PA, both he and Marge traveled to many states pursuing careers for Vic in the oil industry and Marge in the hotel industry. Recent years they moved and settled in Mesa AZ. There, Vic took part in managing a shooter training business, as the office manager with Ultimate Accessories Firearms Training in Mesa, AZ for about 8 years.

Vic will be sorely missed by many hobby and professional shooters for a long time. His absence due to illness has been poignant, but his memory will often provide bright spots for us all to recall in future events that he so often affected. Vic can now rest in peace, with the knowledge that his legacy of devotion, sportsmanship and professionalism will carry a fond memory.of him for decades.

Sincerely, Al DePaoli, Pres. ADCO
