Steve Scott Joins Blue Heron Communications

Norman, Okla. – Blue Heron Communications, a full-service, outdoor-specialty marketing agency announces the appointment of Steve Scott, producer and host of Safari Hunter’s Journal & Outdoor Guide television series, to the newly-created role of Special Projects Coordinator. Scott brings a high caliber of hunting heritage and expertise to Blue Heron Communications, as well as a strong commitment to hunting conservation and community.

Scott will build upon Blue Heron’s deep network of relationships with outdoor industry journalists, editors and representatives of companies focused on the shooting, hunting, tactical and conservation interests.

Scott joins the business a reformed attorney, part-time college professor and a full-time outdoor communicator who is a passionate advocate for the cause of sportsmen, both in Washington D.C., and on his award-winning television series.

During Scotts’ 33-year career, he has written for numerous magazines, periodicals, and websites in both North America and Africa including NRA Hunters’ Leadership Forum, Peterson’s Hunting, The Hunting Report, African Hunting Gazette, Sporting Classics and as Editor of The Outfitter Wire. Scott has testified before both the United States Senate, the US House of Representatives and the US Department of Transportation concerning conservation, public land use and sportsmen’s travel issues. He is a founding partner of the China Hunting Show in Shanghai, the first ever hunting-based trade show held in mainland China. Scott has served several conservation and humanitarian organizations filling board positions with Safari Club International, SCI’s national director of the Sportsmen Against Hunger project, Professional Outdoor Media Association and the US Olympic Shooting Team Foundation.
