Orion Wholesale Seeks Shooting Sports Industry Buyer

Jeffersonville, Indiana –- Orion Wholesale, recognized as one of the fastest growing distributors in the hunting and shooting sports industry, is seeking an experienced Shooting Sports Industry Buyer. In this role, the Shooting Sports Industry Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring firearms, ammunition, and related accessories to support Orion’s premium product offerings and business operations.

The ideal candidate will have experience building strong relationships with strategic suppliers within the shooting sports industry. As a shooting sports industry buyer, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting comprehensive market research to identify reputable suppliers of firearms, ammunition, optics, and accessories
  • Evaluating potential suppliers based on quality, reliability, and compliance of their products with industry regulations
  • Staying abreast of federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to firearms and ensure that all procurement activities comply with legal requirements
  • Negotiating favorable terms and conditions with suppliers, including pricing, delivery schedules and warranty terms
  • Working closely with inventory management teams to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing excess inventory
  • Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with firearm manufacturers, distributors, and other industry partners
  • Identifying and mitigating potential risks in the supply chain, including disruptions or changes in regulatory requirements
  • Staying informed about industry trends, new products releases, and advancement in firearm technology
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, and legal teams, to align procurement activities and overall business objectives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or related field and/or shooting sports industry
  • Proven experience as a buyer or procurement specialist in the firearms and accessories industry
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to firearms procurement
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain vendor relationships
  • Familiarity with firearm technologies and accessories
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organization skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and regulated environment
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
