Tim Jevsnik Sets New World Record in World Archery Double 50M
MADISON, Miss. –– Gold Tip®, an industry leader in carbon arrows and bolts, is very proud to announce Team Gold Tip archer Tim Jevsnik recently set a new World Record for Archery Double 50 Meter, shooting a 1427 out of a possible perfect score of 1440.
Competing in a national team selection match in Stožice, Slovenia, Jevsnik beat the previous World Record of 1424 by three points, besting the mark set by Jimmy Lutz in 2022.
Jevsnik used Gold Tip Pierce Tour Shafts for his record-setting performance and persevered through inclement weather during the match.
“There were some shots where I felt the rain was blocking a clear view to the target with the clarifier and scope lens being wet,” said Jevsnik. “But I cannot say I didn’t enjoy it.”
Team Gold Tip pro staff manager Tim Gillingham lauded Jevsnik’s accomplishment. “For him to shoot like that in rainy, wet conditions is very impressive,” said Gillingham. “And considering he’s only 20 years old, the sky is the limit.”
Last year, Jevsnik made the quarterfinals of the Hyundai Archery World Cup in Shanghai and finished in the Top 16 at the world championships.
Currently ranked 14th in the world in men’s compound bow, Jevsnik hopes to be part of the team Slovenia sends to the 2024 Hyuandai Archery World Cup in April, again in Shanghai.
