CMP Introduces the 2021 Talladega Spring Classic Marksmanship Event

To generate fresh opportunities for rifle and pistol competitors in the new year, the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) has created a spring event loaded with matches and courses never seen before on CMP’s ranges.

The CMP Talladega Spring Classic is set to be held March 16-21, 2021, at the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park in Alabama. Appealing to both experienced enthusiasts and beginners, the lineup of matches at the CMP Talladega Spring Classic includes a mix of traditional vintage and modern military rifle matches, pistol competitions and educational courses.

Firing for the first time will be a Pistol 2700 Match, Mid-Range 3×600 Rifle Match, Long Range Rifle Clinic and a Benchrest Garand Match, among other competitive events. A Pistol Marksmanship 101 Course and a Team CMP 600-Yard Clinic will allow guests the opportunity to learn firearm basics from certified instructors, who happen to be some of the leading marksmen in the field today.

Outside of the new, guests can enjoy CMP staple events like the Rifle Marksmanship 101 Course, Rimfire Sporter Rifle, .22 Rimfire Pistol, Service Pistol and GSMM (Garand/Springfield/Vintage and Modern Military) Rifle matches.

About Talladega Marksmanship Park:

The CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park, “the Home of Marksmanship,” is a safe destination for marksmen and those aspiring to be marksmen, featuring CMP electronic targets and scoring monitors that can only be found at the 500-acre facility. The park is open to the public every week and regularly hosts rifle, pistol and shotgun events all year long.

Off of the firing line, the Club House holds a fully-stocked Pro Shop that includes a collection of rifles, ammunition, marksmanship accessories and CMP memorabilia.

NOTE: Although it is CMP’s hope to hold our upcoming events, please keep in mind that we may have to cancel due to COVID-19 issues. For those events that we do conduct, we will follow the appropriate state’s guidelines and recommendations. We continue to monitor the venue states’ guidelines and adjust our procedures based on those guidelines and common sense. As always, the safety of our customers and employees is our priority.
