John A. Halter Center to Host Para Trap Grand Prix

HILLSDALE, Mich. — The John A. Halter Shooting Sports Education Center will host the 2022 Para Trap Grand Prix from May 10-15. Para trap shooters from USA Shooting and overseas will complete. The event is open to the public.

WHEN:

Tuesday, May 10, to Sunday, May 15

Daily start time is 10 a.m. ET

Tuesday, May 10, and Wednesday, May 11

Para Classification Course open to medical personnel interested in becoming legal classifiers of para shooting

Thursday, May 12

WHAT:

The Para Trap Grand Prix is open to athletes who have a physical impairment. The discipline of Para Trap Shooting is based on the Olympic Trap discipline. Athletes use a shotgun to hit 'clays' that are propelled into the air from machines on the ground. Athletes strive to make as many 'hits' (when a clay is broken) as possible. Through the competition, athletes shoot from across five central positions on the range. Athletes shoot at 125 clays in the qualification round.

The Halter Center is a state-of-the-art shooting facility located five miles from the Hillsdale College campus.
