Communications Manager

The Murray Road Agency is looking for an experienced communicator with a proven track record of success in public relations, communications and marketing. Planning, creating and delivering engaging messaging and content aligned with client priorities will be essential. Day-to-day interaction with clients is also a key aspect of this position.

The ideal candidate will have experience securing print, digital and social earned media and exposure. Applicants should also have a portfolio of work that demonstrates their ability to write, edit, manage and disseminate engaging written pieces for a variety of markets. They should be familiar with targeting, distribution and tracking software and best practices.

The communications manager will work in collaboration with the agency leadership team and clients to formulate, execute, track and improve communications that ultimately drive engagement, reach and awareness growth. This person will need to lead the process at most points and should be adept and comfortable coordinating efforts and managing integrated projects with several key stakeholders. Knowledge of the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping, shooting and boating is preferred. The willingness to learn and embrace these activities is a must.

Qualifications

-At least five years of experience in public relations, marketing, social media or related fields

-Bachelor’s degree

-Experience identifying influential outlets in multiple markets and spaces

-Extensive written works to include news releases and other marketing copy

-Ability to fill all roles involved in the creation and distribution of news releases and other written pieces

-Strong catalog, advertising, web and social media writing background

-eNewsletter writing experience and familiar with multiple eNewsletter platforms

-Proficient in Microsoft Word

-Ability to manage and work Excel spreadsheets

-Keen understanding of multiple audiences and key message differentiation

-Demonstrated ability to construct, manage and enhance editorial calendars

Responsibilities

-Engage with clients to create and/or identify campaigns

-Report quantifiable results on a regular basis and in a timely manner

-Support multiple marketing and communications functions with dynamic writing

-Write, edit, route, approve and distribute news releases

-Create platform-specific text optimized for specific audiences and goals

-Identify and foster relationships with key influencers

-Attend and support industry and consumer events on behalf of Murray Road clients
