Sponsors and Vendors Needed for Youth Shooting Event!!!

Indiana youth shooting athletes are proud to announce that on June 29th and 30th, 2019 the FIRST EVER combined SCTP/AIM State Championship will be held at St. Joe Valley Trap and Skeet in St. Joe, IN. This event will draw at least 200 youth shooters from all over Indiana, along with parents and coaches. Skeet will be conducted on Saturday the 29th of June, and Trap will be held on the 30th. High school, college, club teams and individual youth athletes will compete for awards from both organizations as they converge on Northern Indiana for a weekend of safe competition.

In the past, youth athletes have had to travel to two different locations to shoot both the AIM (Academics, Integrity, Marksmanship) and SCTP (Scholastic Clay Target Program) state shoots. In previous years, AIM shooters held their state competition in conjunction with the Indiana ATA State Championship near Indianapolis on a Tuesday prior to their preliminary competition due to scheduling restrictions. This year the tournament will be held on a weekend, making it easier for athletes, coaches, and parents to attend. AIM primarily focuses on trap shooting while the SCTP focuses on trap, skeet, and sporting clays. AIM is affiliated directly with the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA), while SCTP is associated with the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF). For more information on AIM, please visit www.aim4ata.com, and for more information on SCTP, please visit www.sssfonline.org.

DCYSSF, or DeKalb County Youth Shooting Sports Foundation, a newly formed 501c3 put in place to help youth shooters defray the cost of shooting, will be hosting the event with a lot of help from St. Joe Valley Trap and Skeet. St. Joe Valley Trap and Skeet hosts some of the biggest shotgun events in the country, such as the Kolar Mid America, and hosted the Junior World last year. St. Joe Valley Trap and Skeet is an all-volunteer club and has been named Top All-Volunteer club for a number of years. More information from SJV can be found at www.stjoevalleytrapandskeet.com.

DCYSSF is looking for not only sponsors to help offset the entry fees for the youth shooters, but also vendors who would like to set up for the shoot. As most know, youth shooting - especially trap and skeet - is a very fast-growing segment of shooting sports and the growth wouldn't be possible without the generous support of our patrons. Sponsors will be recognized throughout the shoot, and there is plenty of vendor space available - but it will fill up fast! If you would like to become a vendor or sponsor at this event, please contact Jay Hammond, President, DCYSSF at geoexchange@yahoo.com or call 260-413-3016.
