Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting Championships Set for August 18-21

SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. - The Steel Challenge Shooting Association (SCSA), the national governing body for the sport of Speed Shooting, has announced that the 2011 Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting Championships will take place August 18-21 in Piru,Calif. This marks the 30th anniversary since the first Steel Challenge, and the final year the match will be held in the Golden State.

Since the first Steel Challenge in 1981, the World Speed Shooting Championships have become a fixture on the match calendars of top shooters and industry leaders alike. Each year the world's best shooters gather to determine who among them is the fastest of the fast.

The schedule of events for this year's match is as follows:

Wednesday, August 17
- Registration at match hotel

Thursday, August 18
- Competition from 8:30am-5:00pm
- Browning: Rimfire Pistol
- Vang Comp: Shotgun

Friday, August 19
- Competition from 8:30am-5pm
- World Championships begin in all categories and divisions in centerfire pistol

Saturday, August 20
- Competition from 8:30am-5:00pm
- World Championships continue in all categories and divisions in centerfire pistol
- NSSF First Shots
- NSSF Hospitality Banquet & Awards Presentation 6:30pm-10:00pm at the match hotel

Sunday, August 21
- Prize Distribution at Match Hotel
