SPP Announces HiViz As Scholarship and Nationals Stage Sponsor

The Scholastic Pistol Program (SPP) announces that HiViz Shooting Systems will offer a $1,000 SPP College Scholarship in 2014. As part of its overall Bronze sponsorship, HiViz is also the SPP Junior/Senior National Championships FOCUS stage sponsor.

The HiViz-sponsored scholarship will be presented as part of the 2014 SPP Scholarship Program being administered by Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF). SSSF is responsible for providing funding and other resources for SPP and Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP).

"We at HiViz Shooting Systems believe that shooting is not only fun, but also instills a strong sense of overall moral and social responsibility," said Phil Howe, President, HiViz Shooting Systems. "Supporting programs like Scholastic Pistol gives us an opportunity to set the foundation for the future of shooting, hunting, and core American values."

"For a sport so reliant on the front sight, we are extremely pleased to have HiViz as a sponsor this year, especially as sponsor of a stage that was named for the need to really FOCUS," said Scott Moore, SPP National Program Director. "In addition, the scholarship will allow SPP athletes to continue their sport into the college ranks, which is an important part of the maturation of our sport."

The 2014 SPP Junior/Senior Nationals, the largest national youth Action Shooting Sports championships, will be held July 14-19 at the World Shooting and Recreational Complex in Sparta, IL. Teams will be vying for titles in Junior Rimfire, Junior Centerfire, Senior Rimfire, and Senior Centerfire.

SPP also offers its Virtual E-Postal Match Series, which is a way teams can compete without having to travel to other ranges. In addition to competing against other teams for national titles, they will also be eligible for randomly drawn prizes.
