Outdoorsmen In Action Unveiled

TULSA, OKLAHOMA, - Outdoorsmen In Action (OIA) comes to life after being in the forefront of the Co-Founders' minds for a year. Nick Parsons and Shannon Young have been personally active in the disaster relief community for over 10 years, but are taking their efforts to a new level. Being outdoorsmen themselves they recognized that few groups were as uniquely qualified as outdoorsmen to bring this mission to fruition. Their mission is to bring outdoorsmen together from all over the nation, to become a part of OIA and quickly become a highly skilled and prepared disaster relief organization.

"Our interests, our efforts throughout the year will be to respond and help people who have been affected by natural disasters, home fires, and countless other devastating emergencies. Those involved with Outdoorsmen In Action will be trained members of the community who will each play a specific role on scene and work efficiently and effectively with other emergency and response personnel," said Nick Parsons, CEO of Outdoorsmen In Action. "Not only will we be on site to lend helping hands, we will actively provide manpower, shelving, equipment, lighting, water, laundry services, and much more. Our Chapters throughout the country will have a rapid response time and the resources necessary to play a vital role in any given situation."

Outdoorsmen In Action has begun putting its mission into action by devising a 3-fold plan. They are putting together an extensive database of individuals all across the country who are becoming part of their local OIA chapter. The next step is to train and provide essential gear, vehicles, and equipment to respond to a crisis appropriately. The final step is something very unique, titled "Camp AnchorPoint™." This base camp is a "city within a city" and will provide physical, emotional, and spiritual assistance to those affected by an event. Outdoorsmen In Action is already locating partners to assist them in providing all the necessary means to comfort the survivors.
Nick understands the challenges of running such a large organization, but he is relying on local businesses, churches, and the communities themselves to utilize as support. He is also busy meeting with companies to secure partnerships and funding for the various aspects of their mission. Nick concluded, "This is something that is near and dear to my heart. I am confident my brothers and sisters from the outdoor industry will step up and be a part of this wonderful thing and we all can make a lasting impression and be proud of who we are. OIA will be the outdoor industry's flagship responder to disasters."
Outdoorsmen In Action is featured in the September edition of North American Hunter magazine. North American Hunter magazine has partnered up with OIA and is publicizing their efforts in the magazine and through their social media channels.
