SHOT Show Review, New Products And More In April Issue Of Shooting Industry

The April issue of Shooting Industry takes a look at some of the best new products SHOT Show had to offer this year, and highlights those dealers selected as potential top-sellers. In "Best In Show," Carolee Anita Boyles speaks to several dealers about their expectations for the business year, collecting their reactions to SHOT Show's new product offerings. She speaks with Joe Keffer, owner and president of Sportsman's Shop in New Holland, Pa., to find out which guns he ordered for his store.

"The Browning .380 on a 1911 frame is nicely done and is a quality piece that fits the hand well. As a semi-compact, I think that will do well," said Keffer. "The new Ruger LC9s Pro and the striker-fired LC9s will sell well, also. Glock introduced their line of optic-ready pistols, which is similar to the Smith & Wesson C.O.R.E. line that came out last year. The C.O.R.E. line sold well, so the Glocks should attract attention."

Shooting Industry Editor Jade Moldé provides an overview of the 2015 SHOT Show, looking at the near-record attendance, show improvements and business predictions for this year. The Industry Day at the Range is also featured, standing out as a must-attend event for many buyers and exhibitors to handle new products firsthand.

"Seeing and handling all of the new gear at SHOT is one of the show's greatest draws," said Kevin Wilson, Davidson's account development manager, eastern region. "However, actually using the gear is what puts Industry Day at the Range at the very top of my list every year."

This issue also includes the April New Product Showcase, featuring over 50 must-have new products, including firearms, ammunition, optics and more.
