ATA's Youth Program Receives Scholarship Endowment

SPARTA (IL) – The Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) youth
program AIM was recently the recipient of a scholarship endowment from
the Pat and Penny Ireland Trust of Virginia which will be distributed to a
number of young trap shooters in the years to come.

Mr. Ireland supported the ATA and the sport of trapshooting for over 55
years by his participation and expertise in the management of the sport.
After serving in every elected position in the Virginia Trapshooting
Association, including ATA Delegate, Mr. Ireland was elected to the Virginia
Trapshooting Hall of Fame in 2001. Upon Mr. Ireland's death in 2010, Mrs.
Ireland established the annual Pat Ireland Memorial scholarship to benefit
members of the ATA's youth program AIM.

Mrs. Ireland passed away in January 2015 with the wish that an endowment
be left to the ATA for the purpose of providing scholarship assistance to
young members. It is the goal of the Association that this fund provides
annual scholarships indefinitely.

This year there will be fifteen $2,500 scholarships awarded for a total of
$37,500. For more information, please visit the ATA website a www.shootata.com, or contact Emily Zollner or Janae Yates at 618-449-2224 or aim@shootata.com.
