AO Coolers reaching out to help others.  When New Roots approached AO Coolers to help out, AO did just that by stepping up to fill an important need in the country of Haiti. AO sent several different styles of soft sided coolers to be used by New Roots on their quest to improve the quality of life for many on the island.

New Roots Haiti is a small Non Profit operating in Northern Haiti with the goal of ending generational poverty through regenerative farming and job creation.  The Cap Haitian Valley is perhaps one of the most fertile areas in all of Haiti.  However the land is COVERED in sugar cane, which is almost exclusively turned into a product similar to moonshine.  Yet at the same time the country is plagued with malnutrition.  Due to centuries of farming the same crop, the lands are depleted of many natural nutrients, meaning that farmers crops and livestock are half as successful as they otherwise could be.

New Roots is training Haitian farmers how to regenerate the health of the land, how to operate and own a small PROFITABLE farm, and is stimulating the economy in the small village through job creation.  On the farm New Roots also has a butcher shop where all the meat they raise can be prepared before transporting it to over 100 clients across Northern Haiti.  New Roots is the only place raising and selling locally grown meats in the entire area.

Due to the current condition of the “roads” in Haiti, the New Roots team transports the meats to the clients on motorcycles. Some of the clients live over an hour away.  As you can imagine the heat in Haiti can be quite smothering and so in order to keep the meats from spoiling, they needed a way to keep them cool. When New Roots reached out to AO Coolers, who were so inspired by the work and the goal to help others help themselves, AO Coolers jumped on board.  Five days a week the New Roots team straps the coolers on to the motorcycles and head out on a journey that can be explained as nothing more than epic.  If only these AO Coolers could talk, the stories told could have us all on the edge of our seats for hours!
