Barrett Seeking Product Designer

The ARG Product Designer supports the Chief Design Engineer in defining and development of the latest firearms innovations that become opinion shaping in our industry. They will work closely with all areas of the company, especially Engineering, Sales and Manufacturing. This includes collaboration on new product concepts, customer requirements, and interfacing with professional users.

  • 4 + years experience designing firearms or firearms components
  • High level of firearms history knowledge and familiarity with complex design features related to firearms.
  • Maintain and be knowledgeable in the use of test equipment and ranges.
  • Practical Machine Shop experience as a machinist is a plus.
  • Understanding and knowledge of strengths of materials (metals and plastics).
  • Understanding of heat treat processes of steel parts.
  • Familiarity with different types of surface treatments and coatings for wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
  • Knowledge and understanding of injection molding, MIM, Sheet metal, and casting processes.
  • Maintain a close understanding of the industry developments and trends in all disciplines of shooting. (long distance, precision firearms, tactical segments etc.)
