The Council to Advance Hunting and the Shooting Sports (Council) is offering $5,000 student scholarship sponsorships to support emerging Recruitment, Retention, and Reactivation (R3) research and leadership professionals attending the National R3 Symposium. Sponsors receive logo recognition and direct engagement with scholars while helping build the future workforce for hunting, shooting sports, and conservation.

Dallas Safari Club announced Russell Stacy as its new Chief Executive Officer. Stacy, a fourth-generation agri-business operator and DSC Life Member, previously served on the DSC and DSC Foundation Boards. He will lead DSC as it temporarily relocates its annual Convention to Atlanta in 2026-2027 and Houston in 2028-2029.

SLG2, Inc. released a video featuring Karen Butler mentoring Christa Forrester through her first turkey hunt, demonstrating that effective mentorship requires passion and willingness to share knowledge safely, not expert status. The video aims to encourage outdoor enthusiasts to become mentors and introduce others to hunting.

The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) promoted Dana Wilson to Director of Development and Tanner Lineberry to Associate Director of Marketing. Executive Director Adam Kraut stated these new positions are pivotal for SAF's future growth and ability to advance its strategic litigation program and Second Amendment advocacy.

HeadHunters NW completed an executive search resulting in Dr. Todd Adkins' appointment as Executive Director of the Oregon Hunters Association. Dr. Adkins brings 30 years of hunting and conservation experience, including previous roles at Sportsmen's Alliance and the NRA-ILA, and will lead OHA's transformation and growth.

The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation announced new board leadership with Todd Walker as chair, AshLee Strong as vice chair, and five new members including Mark Baker, John Green, Ike Eastman, Will Primos, and Adam Weatherby. The 16-member board from 11 states leads RMEF's conservation efforts for elk, wildlife habitat, and hunting heritage.

The Council to Advance Hunting and the Shooting Sports announced that the R3 License Data Dashboard will not be maintained for 2026 following the completion of its development funding. The public tool provided free visualizations of hunting and fishing license purchase trends to support Recruitment, Retention, and Reactivation efforts.

The National Rifle Association reminds students nationwide that applications for the 2026 NRA Youth Education Summit (Y.E.S.) are due in less than one month. This prestigious, all-expense-paid, six-day leadership and scholarship program for rising high school juniors and seniors will take place July 21–26, 2026, in Washington, D.C.

Tuesday night, Eileen Higgins was elected as the City of Miami’s next mayor. Higgins, a long-time opponent of Second Amendment rights, brings to City Hall an anti-gun record that has drawn scrutiny from Florida's gun owners.

The Second Amendment Foundation announced that Q, a firearms, silencer and accessories manufacturer, has joined as the latest corporate partner at the Gold level. Along with the new commitment through the corporate partner program, Q will also provide firearms for the organization’s monthly sweepstakes to raise additional funds for SAF’s ongoing work across the nation.

Gun Owners of America (GOA) is proud to announce that the organization and several of its leading voices have been nominated across three major categories for the 2025 Gundie Awards.

The USA Clay Target League announces that its 2025 Annual Impact Report is now available. This yearly report presents the impact of the League on students, schools, conservation, and the greater outdoor community.

The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF) announces the promotion of John Leach as the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP) National Director. Leach previously served as the SASP's Programs Manager for three years, working closely to assist the previous National Director with high-level duties, making him the perfect candidate for promotion into this role.

Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) welcomed reports that the Trump Administration will establish a dedicated Second Amendment rights section within the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice—an action that directly reflects FPC’s top executive-branch recommendation and a priority first proposed by FPC during the previous Trump Administration.

MidwayUSA Foundation is asking for your support on Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving held each year, this year, on December 2. The public charity that funds America’s youth shooting teams hopes to raise $500,000 for youth shooting sports. 

NSSF, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, announced two forthcoming additions to its executive leadership team. Effective January 1, 2026, Melissa Schilling will become Vice President, Exhibitions and Events, and John McNamara will serve as Vice President, Member Services.
