Nearly 40 athletes have assembled at the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit in Fort Benning, Georgia, for USA Shooting's Rifle & Pistol Spring Selection Match with two destinations in mind. A top-two performance at the Home of Champions could possibly earn each athlete a trip to Munich, Germany or Gabala, Azerbaijan to compete in the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cups.

The Civilian Marksmanship Program announced that planning is underway for a number of new and exciting programs for the 2018 National Matches at Camp Perry, Ohio. Planned enhancements include a new CMP High Power Ranking System, greater shooting opportunities for women and junior competitors are being developed and a CMP Range Officer Certification and Licensing Program is coming.

The event will begin Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016, and concludes Sunday, Dec. 11, at CMP's ground-breaking Talladega Marksmanship Park.
