Williamsburg, KY – Archery Unlimited, Inc. located in Prattville, Alabama opened for business in March of 2001. Their mission of promoting the sport of archery through education lines up directly with the mission of S3DA. Archery Unlimited, Inc. is a retail archery pro shop with an indoor archery shooting range. They offer a full line of archery shooting and hunting gear as well as a good selection of firearms. The wonderful staff at Archery Unlimited has shown great hospitality to the families of S3DA and offered expert guidance and helpful advice throughout the years. Alabama S3DA has had the opportunity to host quite a few Indoor regionals at this location over the past couple of years and the youth truly enjoy competing at this facility.

S3DA parent Brian Mims stated, “My son Paden is in his third year of shooting archery for S3DA. For the past three years, we have shot the indoor regional that Archery Unlimited hosts and this was the biggest turnout and one of the best ones we have been to. The good thing about the Indoor Regional being held at an experienced archery pro shop like this is if any of the youth members has a problem with their bows or archery equipment the shop employees are always right there to help.”

With more than 100+ people in attendance, archers from across southeast Alabama gathered to compete in the second Indoor Regional of the 2021-2022 competition season. Alabama S3DA State Coordinator, Jeff Boland stated, “This was an amazing turnout for our second regional event of the season and it makes me really excited for our Indoor State Tournament on February 19th, 2022. I hope to gain more new teams across the state and encourage anyone interested in becoming a part of Alabama S3DA to contact me. Connie Crews is an S3DA Coach for the S3DA Team World Champion Outdoors and she reflected on the event by saying, “The Indoor Regional hosted by Archery Unlimited was an enjoyable experience for all. Mr. Rick and his guys at the shop provided the kids with a great shooting environment and was able to provide a lot of assistance. This was the first regional event ever for many of the archers and the building was filled with lots of smiles and chatter, as everyone seemed to be catching up with one another. I can’t express how grateful I am to be surrounded with such a great group of people.”

About Scholastic 3-D Archery

Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) is a unique, family-oriented youth archery program which has grown exponentially across the United States as a next-step initiative to follow introductory archery programs. The mission of the Scholastic

3-D Archery program is to foster, educate and guide youth in the areas of 3D, indoor target, and outdoor target archery as well as safe, ethical bowhunting practices. The goal of the S3DA program is to provide archery and bowhunting opportunities to youth in after-school settings, as well as with archery-affiliated clubs and businesses in the community. S3DA youth participate in 3-D and target archery using compound and traditional archery equipment. Youth members can participate at regional, state and national archery events and earn college scholarships from colleges and universities across the United States. S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting and bowhunting. The program currently operates across the United States with hundreds of certified coaches serving thousands of youth archers.
