Member of the industry, writer and expert on the history of the Modern Technique of the Pistol, Greg Moats, passed away on July 10, 2026. He was in sales for Bianchi Leather, a sponsor and instructor for Dale Carnegie Training and a Marketing Director for Magnum Products.

His shooting interests included competitive shooting, new shooter instruction and directing church security. He hosted shooting classes with world-class instructors and was a Life Member of the NRA. Greg was a member of the Shootists, Team Kansas and was a Master Class Sporting Clays shooter. As a writer, his material appeared in various publications, including Shooting Wire and The Tactical Wire. Greg was the editor of the Cooper Legacy Foundation online presence.
