"Saturday Big Shots" Block Calls for Steady Nerves & Steadier Aim on Sportsman Channel

DENVER – Saturday is for Safaris! Marking the return of classic, international big-game hunting, the Sportsman Channel "Saturday Big Shots" block of programming takes viewers on safari for exhilarating adventures of all kinds, every Saturday night, from 8:00-11:30 p.m. ET. The evening starts with well-traveled hunter Dave Fulson as he and guests take on some of the world's most sought-after game species on Trijicon's World of Sports Afield. Then it's off to Africa for the heart-pounding pursuit of that continent's most deadly animals on Hornady's Dark & Dangerous. Next, the MeatEater crew takes viewers in search of the ultimate field-to-table experience; and in Man Eats Wild, Australia's own Mario Kalpou seeks wild food in the most extreme environments. Later, join young Chase Anthony on Chasing the 29 as he sets his sights on all the big-game species formally recognized by North America's most prestigious big-game records keeping organizations. Follow modern mountain man Laramy "Sasquatch" Miller as he spends a month overcoming the elements and surviving The Trail. Finally, finish the evening with raw hunting realities on The Most Wanted List and learn from everybody's favorite hunting mentor, Melissa Bachman, on Winchester Deadly Passion. Be sure to tune in from 8:00-11:30 p.m. ET for "Saturday Big Shots" on Sportsman Channel.

The "Saturday Big Shots" lineup includes the following:

Trijicon's World of Sports Afield (8:00 p.m. ET): Host Dave Fulson has spent over three decades hunting and filming big game around the world, including Africa, Asia and North America, and in every episode, he takes viewers on far-flung adventures. From the rugged Yukon bush to the windswept mountains of North America and Asia, to the game fields of Africa, Trijicon's World of Sports Afield delivers world-class hunting! In this week's episode, "Way Back in the Outback, Part 2," Heym USA President Chris Sells and friends continue their action-packed safari in Australia's Northern Territory.

Hornady's Dark & Dangerous (8:30 p.m. ET): This bold series documents the highs, lows, harsh realities and tangible risks always present on a fair chase safari for dangerous game and other challenging species in the wilds of Africa. Every program spotlights a recognized Professional Hunter who allows the Safari Classics camera crew unprecedented access into the world of real-time safari adventure. Featuring a unique editing style that combines multiple hunts, locations and hunters in action simultaneously, the show moves freely back and forth across the fabled game fields of Africa. Each storyline follows the pursuit of Africa's most dangerous game, "The Deadly Seven." In the first episode, "Patience on the Bait," leopard action builds in Dande; Buzz Arthur continues his elephant pursuit; and Joe Theilen finds success on plains game, but the big buffalo are as troublesome as ever.

MeatEater (9:00 p.m. ET): Hunter, author, cook and conservationist Steven Rinella treks into the world's most remote and ruggedly beautiful regions, bringing game meat from field to table. In this first episode, "Texas Turkeys," Rinella is joined by country music icon Luke Combs to hunt Rio Grande wild turkeys at the historic Yturria Ranch in South Texas.

Man Eats Wild (9:30 p.m. ET): Follow hardcore adventurer and award-winning restaurateur Mario Kalpou on an amazing journey around the globe to harvest wild food in unbelievable places. In this week's episode, "Deadly Outback," Kalpou is in the Australian Outback, where everything is trying to kill you. It's the monsoon season, when no one attempts to roam around with saltwater crocodiles lurking. Mario links up with a longtime friend in search of water buffalo and prepares a South American-inspired meal in the middle of nowhere.

Chasing the 29 (10:00 p.m. ET): Host Chase Anthony travels across North America pursuing one of the continent's greatest hunting challenges – taking the North American 29. From remote mountains to unforgiving backcountry, every hunt pushes a hunter's physical limits, patience and determination. Along the way, the series captures the adventure, wildlife, landscapes and stories that come with a life dedicated to the outdoors. Chasing The 29 is about more than the harvest –it's about the journey, the people and the pursuit of a lifelong dream. In this first episode, Chase hopes to draw his bow on a big bison in "Chasing Buffalo Through the Prairies of South Dakota."

The Trail (10:30 p.m. ET): Host Laramy "Sasquatch" Miller sets off with his trusty horse 7, to test his survival skills and pay homage to mountain men of the past. Saying goodbye to his family, Sasquatch and 7 battle the elements, make shelter, live off the land and survive a perilous 30-day trek through the backcountry. Sasquatch forages and hunts and fishes for food, and he faces wolves, weather and a crazy variety of other challenges along The Trail. In this week's episode, "Camp Otis," Sasquatch finds success fishing and foraging, and then he does some much needed camp chores and spends time caring for 7.

The Most Wanted List (11:00 p.m. ET): This program isn't a highlight reel; it's the real deal. Every episode takes viewers on raw, unpredictable hunts where things rarely go as planned and every opportunity is earned. Misses, miles and moments that matter are what chasing the most wanted list is all about. In this week's episode, "Half-Baked Alaska," harsh Alaska weather creates unbearable conditions, and patience wears thin for Kristy Lee Orr and Sonny. (New episodes of The Most Wanted List premiere every Sunday afternoon at 12:00 p.m. ET.)

Winchester Deadly Passion (11:30 p.m. ET): Each week, Host Melissa Bachman's hardcore approach to hunting coupled with her genuine, fun-loving personality keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. In this week's episode, "New Zealand Tahr with Special Guest," Melissa Barchman teams up with SCI bid winner Lori McClain and her Winchester on a bull tahr hunt in New Zealand.

Don't miss the return of the "Landing Zone," Presented by Ducks Unlimited, every Saturday afternoon from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. ET. Watch for all-new episodes of Rooster Tales, Ducks Unlimited TV and RNT-V. This outstanding block also includes episodes of the popular programs Heartland Waterfowl and MOJO TV.
